Defiance Precision Products is more than an expert precision-component manufacturer. We also design and develop products using the most advanced technologies. Product development efforts are driven by our customers' needs and changing market demands. For example, we developed and are now manufacturing a line of innovative "complex crown" cam follower rollers that effectively carry a higher load without increasing the bearing width.

We make extensive use of 3-D solid modeling CAD software. Our engineering team is able to process CAD data files created in virtually all major software platforms. Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is applied early in the design stage to ensure that product quality and cost are measured and managed throughout the process.

We employ a range of tools to validate the design before going to prototype production. These include linear and non-linear finite element analysis, customized bearing analysis software and bench testing. We also have the capability of performing full-product validation studies on test engines at our Product Development Center in Westland, Michigan, before a design is released for volume production.
